England > Norfolk & The Broads

Broad Appeal and Narrow Lanes

Norfolk is a country of lush, agricultural landscapes, the atmospheric fens and magnificent East Anglian skies.

The Broads, which were formed by the flooding of peat excavations in the 13th century, are not only perfect for messing about on the water, they're also one of Britain's newest National Parks. Over their hundred miles of waterways you can cruise, fish, bird watch or just enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the many waterside inns.

Norwich is dominated by its Norman cathedral and castle and the city has a labyrinth of narrow alleys and lanes that contain a multitude of delights.

In King's Lynn the ancient 12th century port and market town is bordered by sandy beaches which look out over The Wash. Follow the coast eastwards from here and you'll also find delightful beaches at Huntstanton, Blakeney and Wells-next-the-sea.
