Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park
Declared and a National Park, Loch Lomond and it's surrounding land provides a wonderful location to relax and take in the purity of the Scottish air and water. The lake is the largest body of water in Britain and is home to a staggering number of bird species and fauna and flora.
You can enjoy the Loch in any number of ways, from using the cycle and walking routes around the shores, to taking a leisurely cruise out onto the water itself.
Corryvreckan Whirlpool
Situated in The Gulf of Corryvreckan, off the coast at Crinan, Argyll, the Corryvreckan Whirlpool is the perfect place to take a somewhat more exciting boat ride. Created as a result of dangerous tidal forces, the whirlpool is best experienced by boat, with a highly experienced skipper. Boat trips to the whirlpool can be arranged easily, and the trip generally takes 30-40 minutes.
Kintyre Peninsula
A thin peninsula in the far West of Scotland, the Kintyre peninsula runs for around 40 miles from Tarbet to the Mull of Kintyre. The peninsula has lots of history to discover and plenty of walking, hill climbing and sailing. |
